What is RefWorks?

Transition Year Students Take Five

Last Wednesday, the Library played host to a number of transition year students who were on campus as part of the Take Five Programme: an initiative designed to give students an opportunity to explore the various options available to them at third-level.

Students participating in the half day workshop learnt about internet resources to assist them with their school projects with a big emphasis on the importance of the evaluation of online sources.  The session included plenty of hands on activities, a discussion on the pros and cons of social networking and a tour of the Library.

Library staff were highly impressed with the skills the students already possessed & would like to say a big thanks to everyone for their energy and enthusiasm!!

Creative Writing Competiton 2009

On Thursday 21^st May 2009, the Library celebrated the 10^th anniversary of the DCU Library Creative Writing Competition. The award ceremony was attended by over 80 people from the local participating reading and writing groups. The night was made extra special by the return of Dermot Bolger as guest author for the evening.
