IReL-Open is a 3 year SIF funded project running from 2007-2009, with the goal of building institutional repositories in all Irish universities and a national portal that will act as a showcase of Irish research. On Friday 16 May, the IUA hosted an event to celebrate the first year of this project. More details about the event here. There are now institutional repositories up-and-running in five Irish universities, including DCU.
DCU Institutional Repository has recently been named DORAS (DCU Online Research Access Service). It is available at www.ir.dcu.ie
DORAS contains a growing collection of free, open access journal articles, conference and workshop papers, book chapters and theses, all by DCU authors. These papers are indexed by search engines such as Google and Google Scholar, and are increasing the visibility and impact of DCU research on a global scale. If you are a DCU author and wish to deposit your papers in DORAS please contact the DORAS Manager, Rachel Hill at eprints.admin@dcu.ie
You can also find more information about DORAS at www.ir.dcu.ie and the IReL-Open project at www.irel-open.ie
